Which stores can I use for rebate offers?
Unless an offer says otherwise, you're free to shop anywhere in Canada. Caddle checks your purchase using the receipt details and the product's UPC, not which store you went to, as long as you bought the exact product listed on the offer.
What needs to be visible on my receipt?
Make sure the store name, location, receipt total, date, and the items you bought (especially the one you're claiming) are all clearly visible. The clearer these details are, the easier it is for Caddle to approve your receipt quickly. If something important is missing, like the product's UPC or a clear description, your upload might get declined.
My receipt is too long to fit in one photo, what do I do?
No problem, you've got a few options! Use Automatic Mode in the app's camera and just step back so the whole receipt fits, use Manual Mode to take a few photos and stitch them together with "add section," or take photos with your phone's regular camera and upload them from your camera roll. Whichever method you choose, just make sure the entire receipt is visible in one single upload!
How long does it take for my receipt to be processed?
Usually within 72 hours! Though it can take a bit longer when a lot of members are submitting at once. You can always check your Transaction History on your Account page. A clock icon means it's still being processed.
I see a Transaction was Approved, but my balance hasn't updated, why?
Even if you submit one receipt to a few different offers, Caddle treats it as a single upload, so your balance updates only once everything linked to it has been processed. For example, if you submit one receipt to both a store wide offer and a specific product offer, the store wide part might get approved while the product part is still pending, so you won't see your balance update until both are done. Check your Transaction History (a green check means approved, a red X means declined, and a grey clock means still pending) to see exactly where things stand.
Why was my receipt declined?
There are a bunch of reasons a receipt might get declined, here's what each one means:
- Broken image link: Something went wrong during the upload, so we can't see a receipt image, even though we know you uploaded one.
- Blurry image: Parts of the receipt were too out of focus for us to read the details we need.
- $5.00 minimum not met: For general receipt submissions, you need to spend at least $5.00 at the retailer. If a discount brought your total under $5.00, let us know, since our system doesn't always catch that correctly.
- Costco auto service, gas, or liquor purchases: Right now we only accept Costco grocery receipts, so purchases from other Costco departments won't be approved.
- Duplicate submission: This receipt has already been submitted before. Each receipt can only be used once.
- Incomplete upload: Like a broken image link, something went wrong during upload and the full receipt didn't come through, so we can't approve it.
- International receipt: We only accept receipts from Canadian purchases.
- Irrelevant image: The image submitted wasn't a receipt. This usually happens by accident, so just resubmit the correct photo.
- Item not found: We reviewed your receipt but couldn't confirm the right product was purchased, based on the product name, description, or barcode.
- Missing date: There's no visible date on the receipt, so we can't confirm the purchase happened within the right time frame. This often happens when the date is printed on the back of the receipt.
- Multi-buy requirement not met: If an offer requires buying 2 products together, we can't approve it unless both products were actually purchased.
- Multi-buy split across receipts: If an offer requires 2 products together, both need to be on the same receipt. If they're split across two receipts, we can't approve it.
- Offer requirements not met: Some offers have extra steps, like using a promo code or buying through a specific link. Following the offer details exactly is the best way to avoid this.
- Missing packing slip for online orders: For online purchases, we need proof of delivery or pickup, so we can confirm the order wasn't cancelled.
- Outside the offer time frame: The date on your receipt doesn't fall within the offer's time frame, so it's worth double-checking the dates before you submit.
- Similar but incorrect item purchased: The item you bought is close to the one on offer but doesn't match exactly, maybe the wrong flavour or size.
- Receipt showing a return: We can't accept receipts that show the item on offer was returned.
- Suspicious receipt: The receipt looks like it's been edited or manipulated in some way. Receipts should never be written on or altered.
